How to explain this feeling
(posting late just got in)
how do I explain the feeling that now both my little sister and my dad can outshoot me with both my 1911s? I know my thumb is trashed after getting hit by a 18000 rpm wooden propeller but this is ridiculous. Hillary and dad together shoot less then 500 rds a year.

ill take this section by section.
1) shes a girl. girls shoot pretty well. I think its genetic.
2) that's your dad, he has years of experience on you.
3) that thing you did with the wooden propeller, bad idea. try to not do that anymore.

I taught my dad how to shoot. just saying. He's crazy coordinated (played basketball for UTaustin, I swam in college my natural coordination tends to being able to wrestle underwater)
it was only a .21 cc MVVS engine not that big, my "grandfather" got into a fight with his 125 cc a couple weeks ago went THROUGH the metacarpal for the pinky, came back hit the pink with the next swing this was through leather gloves, breaking the hand the pinky bone next to the right and the middle where it went through it, broke the bone for the ring finger too. I'm going to take him shooting in a week or two he hasnt' fired since getting chewed up.
what I did was 11 years ago
my sister is a celiac, she can fire about 30 rds of .45 before her arms are too weak to continue... but somehow 16 of those in a row were 1.5" group. I taught her how to shoot too.

I took my exgf's niece out to the range and taught her how to shoot rifles. she hit at least 17/25 in every mag with the 10/22.
I told her I felt bamboozled because she HAD to have shot rifles before.

I'd say be proud of yourself for teaching them so well.
My son and daughter shoot my 1911s more accurately than any of my other pistols.
The EMP is their favorite...

Dont be so hard on your self..Some people are just a natural,and maybe you were a little off on your game that day..I used to teach fly fishing lessons and the woman were always a little better because they would listen..

You beat me to it. And don't forget that there is more to shooting than a tight group. There is situational awareness, responding under fire, etc...

I'd fully expect anyone I teach to shoot to be better than I am. Maybe you are a bit like me. I can't aim a pistol it would seem. I shoot the best when its fairly rapid fire, one handed. I get better groups like that than 2 handed aimed.

All it tells me is chilvary is not dead. You would never disprespect your elder by out shooting him, and a gentleman never lets a lady lose.  At least this is the excuse I would go with.
