Anyone hearing the news about Texas (I think) and their "three word active shooter" class?
They are teaching you should first run away.... then hide if possible (barricade in place).... and as a last resort, fight it out.
Great... anyone think you can outrun a bullet or shotgun load?
Sure, taking on a shooter without any type of weapon isn't a great idea, but I would much rather die trying to save myself or others, than die with a bullet in my a%$!!! If there is ever a time, I hope that I'll live up to the idea that I am more of a sheep-dog protecting those around me, than one of the sheep.
Many of you have "been there, done that"..... you already have been put to the test in the military or as leo's......
What are the rest of you guys thinking about the story?? (I'll see if I can find the link).

I'm fit, especially more than the average 27 year old. But I KNOW I can't out run a bullet or buckshot. But again, it is the state, and the state cannot condone going one on one in a firefight. Imagine what police reports would look like IF the state said advance towards your target instead of withdraw.

watching the video, do you notice NO BODY has a firearm but the bad guy?
kinda messed up but that's what they want. they want a bad guy to have an AR or a shotgun and people to have a stapler and a chair.

+1 - This is sort of what I am implying..... the government implying they are responsible for your safety and nowhere expressing that you should take safety seriously and do somethign about it.
Do they need to advertise "go buy a gun, get trained, stand your ground!" .... maybe not... but telling someone to run from a shooter won't do too much to stop it.
Also very much agree with that study about difference in fatalaties police vs armed civilian.
