14 dead in Colorado theater shooting
Somebody went off the deep end.
AURORA, Colo. (AP) — Police Chief Dan Oates says 14 people are dead following a shooting at suburban Denver movie theater.
He says 50 others were injured when gunfire erupted early Friday at the Aurora theater.
Oates says a gunman appeared at the front of one of the Century 16 theaters.
He says "witnesses tell us he released some sort of canister. They heard a hissing sound and some gas emerged and the gunman opened fire."
Police say one person has been arrested. Oates says there's no evidence of any additional shooters

Saw it on the news just now and got sick to my stomach. Innocent people going to the movies not expecting they wouldn't come home.

Ive always said that movie theatres would be a crappy place to be if shtf, they say no weapons allowed. Then some crazy guy can go wild with people stuck in a room and the only way out is through the gunman.
I feel VERY uneasy going see movies, now this just makes it worse for me

The ones where I live don't prohibit guns but I admit it's been a couple years since I've been. I stopped going when the amount of black people going and the resulting necessary police presence made it more like stepping into a prison yard.

Just woke up and saw this on the news. Death toll is up to 15 now according to Fox News. I always carry when going to theaters and I prefer to go to the matinee. Too many people in such a small place for me to go to the midnight premieres for me.

this is scary as hell- dark room with loud speakers already blasting gunshot noises and some nut job opens fire on a crowd. i feel for the families who lost people there, thats awful. i can already see the gun haters clammoring for further gun laws.
