In memorium...

All -

The gun world has lost a staunch supporter and an all-around good guy.

My father died suddenly several days ago. He taught me the importance of accepting responsibility for ourselves and those around us and the need to be sheep-dogs in a world of sheep and wolves. He taught me how to shoot, how to respect firearms, and how to be a man in a world increasingly run by boys. I miss him a lot.

If you're a praying man, send one up to God for his soul. If you're a drinking man, toss one back for him.

Any words of wisdom in dealing with sudden loss are welcome. I'm struggling with this one, and I've dealt with death my entire adult life. This hurts.

Hey Joe, I don't know you from Adam, but I hope you find the strength to push through this. Your Dad loved you dearly when teaching you everything that he taught you. I have a 2 year old myself, I know the smile it brings to a father to teach his son something, anything at all.

He was proud to be your Dad.

I can't imagine the pain, and I know that one day, when I lose my Dad, I won't have to imagine it, it will be real. I dread the day. My condolences, and prayers sent.

Sorry for your loss man. I dealt with it by staying busy with my life as I'm sure your dad would want you to keep moving forward. Stay strong, it gets easier.

My advice - Go out and shoot a couple bricks of ammo in his honor.

My deepest condolences.

Your dad sounds like he was a great man to have in your corner. Be thankful and remember the things taught to you, and pass them on to whoever will take those nuggets of wisdom and nutrure them. It will help you keep his legacy alive.

May the Lord bless and comfort you, and give you strength to carry his lessons forward to another.

these were the exact words that came to my head reading your tribute.

also, may he always live on in your memories and recall them often - even through the pain. i have not lost mine, but he is very old and declining and i do not look forward to what you may be feeling now. i do hope after the grieving, will come joy remembering him. i doubt you will ever stop missing him, but i do hope the pain eases some. God Bless him and you/your family.

how old was he? Do you have any bros/sis to share and comfort ea other?

i hope sharing this here with us has given you 'some' solace
