I got a reminder today of how fast things can go bad

Went to the waterpark with the family. Myself, wife, 7yr old daughter and 11 month old daughter. As we were leaving, I started rifling through our bag to find my keys and wallet when I heard my wife asking where our daughter (7) was. I said right behind me. Well she wasn't. I backtracked to where our chair was and didnt find her. I made it back to my wife and told her to go to the front entrance and wait there to make sure no one leaves with her and notify security. I started recon. After about 10 minutes I started getting scared and then angry. I started picturing things and what I'd do to the person who had her. I finally met back up with my wife who thankfully had her. Turns out when she lost us, she found a LEO and told him she lost her parents. The LEO took her up front where my wife was waiting.

I like to consider myself a pretty vigilant person, but it just goes to show that so much can happen in a fraction of a second. Don't get complacent. Stay safe.

Good on your daughter. It is very easy to lose a child, and for the most part I don't judge the parent. Which water park were you guys at?

Glad everything worked out ok. Sounds like you taught your daughter well since she went straight to the LEO.

I can't even imagine how you felt. I am happy that it worked out well for you.

Very scary. I am glad everything was alright! And that she knew what to do.

Oceanbreeze in VA Beach.

I'm pretty proud of how she handled it. She knew to go to a LEO and ask for his help. Beats a random park-goer.

Glad to hear she was found safe and sound and it sounds like y'all trained her well to find the right people when in need of help.
