Does not surprise me one bit.
I put 343K on my 86 Volvo 240.
Right now, I have around 260k on my 91 Volvo 240. Neither saw a major engine re-build, either. The 91 still runs great and I still have the original a/c compressor in the 21 year old car.

In my experiences, Volvo is like Glock - ugly, uncomfortable, and will explode in your hand if it doesn't like the ammo. LOL

My dad loved his S80 T6 until a texter ended that car. Had 180 K on it and was just getting broken in. Replaced it with a 2012 Sonata Limited 2.0T. Car came with a 1 Million Mile warranty on the drivetrain. We'll see...

my brother just got a 91 240 waggy that's got 289k (?) on the clock. I have not heard it run yet. I guess he drove it home from where he got it but it hasn't moved since.

My '91 740 has 275,000. The speedo only works about half the time so it's probably closer to 300,000.

that'd be 1,000 oil changes, and 3,750 liters of oil(3,960 qts). That alone is expensive.

You will not see too many Intrepids, Impalas or Tauruses going anywhere near this far.
The build quality on those cars is just not there.
