Shooting Range Help
I want to get a pellet rifle but I have no place to shoot. I live in an apartment complex in the city limits so there's no backyard for me and I don't really want to keep looking over my shoulder to see who's coming.
I think my only option is a gun range and wanted to ask the people "in the know" if it would be ok to shoot at an indoor or outdoor range? I know it's only a pellet rifle but I have know idea where you're suppose to go with them.
Any advice?
William

Call whoever owns the range and ask them.

Here's an option--stay home and shoot: The best pellet trap for quiet and safe indoor shooting of air rifles and air pistols. High quality, durable and long lasting. For NRA 10 meter air rifle target.
NOTE: I have no interest in the vendor, product, or website other than to provide the OP a possible mitigation option for his quandry.

This is just pure curiosity, if you have no place to shoot it, why do you want to have it? Shooting range cost will kill you for just a pellet gun, a 22 would only cost a little more and be loads more fun IMHO. Airsoft would allow you to shoot right inside the house/apartment.

Well I do have an Airsoft...Crosman R76...an AK47 type full auto. It's VERY cool and I do shoot in my place but I only have a distance of about 20-25 feet which works but I'd like to get somewhere around 30ft or more...it's a VERY narrow area to shoot in not to mention BBs bouncing everywhere. Yes I have a few target traps but the BBs still bounce around.
There is a Mossberg 22 cal...a black gun that's semi auto and I've been eyeing that thing for awhile. If I got that the problem would be solved...would have to go to the range then which would be no problem.
I was getting my oil changed a few months ago at Wally World and while I waited the Airsoft rifles got my attention so I checked them out and looked at some video clips online and it's like... yea I gotta get one of those...no doubt about it so I did. I mean there's no way I wasn't going to check one of those things out...they're pretty hot.
Anyway Crosman makes an M4 pump action pellet rifle that's black and looks pretty nice and Daisy has Winchester M14 semi auto that's CO2 powered and I like that better than the M4 but having a hard time making up my mind.
I did call 2 ranges and both said I could shoot there but in the handgun area so everything's good. I just wasn't sure if people shot pellet guns there or not...guess I could have called instead of asking here...just wanted to get some opinions.
Thanks for all the feedback guys.
William

Yep I considered getting a pellet gun so I can shoot at home. Don't see why you would go to the range with one. Although I'm sure regulations very by city. I spent my younger years in the country so the ones I'm looking at are suppressed and subsonic.

The range i'm a member at allows them in the handgun ranges. I've never seen anyone shoot them, but I've seen the pellets and BBs laying around occasionally.
The range I go to has a yearly fee so its free whenever you want to come in.

I would feel a bit "funny" bringing a pellet gun to a range but 25ft in the hallway at home isn't much and no backyard so a range is all I can think of.
