Index Everything?
I just noticed that I "index" everything. Spray bottles. Weight plates at the gym. Power drills. Bananas. Always finger straight. Good habit, I guess, but funny.
The other day I switched out a battery pack on a drill and subconsciously tried to rack a slide that wasn't there. Am I alone here?

I use to index my mag changes on my AR until I realized it was only slowing me down. Now I face bullets backwards and grab a fist full of mag and man handle it into the magwell. FOR ME it is easier and faster.
On my pistol mag changes its still the only option.

I index a lot of things. Even those hunting video games when I take my kids to Chuck-e-Cheese. I'll index the plastic guns and keep them at low ready until it's time to shoot. I don't even think about it until my daughter tells me, "Dad, it's not a real gun."

I basically drill holes in aircraft for a living and I index my hand tools without even thinking about it, especially my drills. The "bore axis" of the drill sits lower in my hand, I get good trigger/throttle control with my middle finger, and the drill bit is almost an extension of my pointer finger.

I would 1000000% rather be around a habitual indexer than the idiots that carry air hammers with finger PULLING the trigger - counting on the nose safety. had a guy on a ladder with the gun hanging down and a gun under the ladder that stood up and bumped his head BAM! drove one into the crown of his head and nailed his hat down hard.
He figured it was bad when he couldn't get his hat off to throw at the idiot!

I thought you were talking about cataloging and indexing everything in a spreadsheet or some such. I see now.
