Stashed some paracord on my motorcycle

I've been wanting to cover the exposed portion of the fork tubes between the triples for some time now, just been trying to come up with an idea on how. Well, it finally hit me while I was in my LGS the other day picking up my new S&W M&P 15-22, paracord! Not only would it look pretty sweet it could serve a purpose if I ever ended up stranded somewhere and needed some rope for survival, I've now got about 50' stashed away on those fork tubes. Anyway, here is a quick shot of how it looked, started getting dark by the time I finished up.

That's pretty bad@$$ looking. I might have to steal the idea.

Stupid Question...How did you secure the ends of the paracord? Tie them off?

I did what is known as "common whipping," basically it involves laying a loop lengthwise underneath the wrap. As you come to the end of the wrap you feed the working end through the loop and then pull the end of the loop, which is hanging from the end opposite the loop, tight. Then you cut and burn the ends of the cord. I wrapped 'er pretty damn tight, I actually had to go get a wrench to tie onto the pull-end to get myself some leverage to pull it through.

It can be kinda hard to understand through text but if you Google it there are pictures and videos abound and it's pretty simple once you understand, this is my first time ever doing it!

Appreciate it. On another note what kind of bike is that? I noticed the key at the top of the for and I've never seen that before.

Nice bike. I was looking at those a while bike. Smooth ride too. Wound up buying a dyna street bob. Not cuz its a Harley but because it had a paint job worth half as much as I paid for it that matched my tattoo. That and it rode great.
