College Football Playoff

Does anyone know the specifics of the plan the Presidents are talking about? I'm so confused.....

Here is my plan though, and I don't see a thing wrong with it.

4 team playoff (essentially an 8 team playoff):

This plan determines a better National Champion. Why? Because it guarantees that in the post season you will play 2 of the best teams in the country OUTSIDE OF YOUR CONFERENCE to be crowned the Champs. Also, you can't get "screwed out" of a playoff spot. Also, the infrastructure is completely in place, the only addition to the current system is bidding out the National Championship game to a city.

It is very simple.

-Leave the current polls, bowls, and BCS system in place.
-Choose the Top 4 teams to enter a playoff based on the BCS, however they must also have been their conference champion
-Rotate between the current BCS bowl locations. Pair up the Rose and Sugar, and the Fiesta and Orange.

This ends a lot of controversy. You know what you have to do to get in. WIN. ON THE FIELD. Isn't that what we have wanted all along? This to be settled on the field? The playoff essentially begins in early December when the Conference Championship games are played, as you have to win that game to make the playoff.

This also answers questions that we have had since Day 1 of BCS. Could Oklahoma State have beaten LSU? Do teams like Boise St., Utah, TCU, and Cincinnati really belong in the title discussion? Maybe, maybe not. But at least you get to find out. Then we will more accurately be able to rank these teams in the future also.

Good god almighty......from your article:

Quote:
Sources told ESPN.com that under the recommended model, four participating teams would be selected by a committee, which would consider certain criteria such as conference championships and strength of schedule.
Are you freaking kidding me?

A committee?

Seriously.....why not settle this on the field. No chance for favoritism, corruption, or scandal here, is there?

Under my model.....great regular season + conference championship = entrance into playoff.

Under the model they are making......committee comes together to pick four teams that will give them the best TV ratings. College football is going to be ruined if that happens.
