Alliance standoff ends with gunman's death - Omaha.com

Botched robbery leaves 2 police officers shot, an additional one wounded by shrapnel and a pharmacist shot. Robber killed in fire exchange.
Luckily the good guys appear to have all non-life threatening injuries.

This story doesn't relay that there was a homicide at a trailer house before all this began as well. They believe they may be related. Also of note, a mid 20s year old kid went missing around Christmas. His vehicle was found near Chadron, NE 2 weeks later abandoned. The kid was thought to be going to Denver which is the opposite direction. The last person to see the kid was the gunmen/robber.

But his mom said he was a good boy. They must have the wrong guy.

Turns out the homicide at the trailer house was the gunman's dad. Sounds like the LEOs got a lot of good info out of him during negotiations.

His dad had found out that his son had killed Josh Bullocks that went missing in December and that is why he killed him. Apparently the body of Josh Bullocks was left in the county I live in. As of this morning there hasn't been any news of the body recovery yet.
