Do I need to get a new CCW?

So I just moved to FL from TN. I have had a TN permit for almost a year. Do I need to get a FL CCW or since FL and TN have reciprocity could I just use my current valid TN one? The complication is I will technically be down here for college and have to get a FL drivers license for residency stuff. Do you think there will be issues using a TN permit whilei have a FL drivers license if it turns out i can? I tried asking three people at the state license offices but no one seemed to know for sure. I hear of alot of people getting out of state licenses (either to be cheaper or to work in more places) is this kinda the same thing?

If you are a Fl resident then you need to get a Florida Permit.

I'd call the Attorney General's Office and ask the same questions. Get your answer from the people who should know for sure.

If you're a resident and need a driver's license, and it's as easy as someone said, then why not just do it and get it over with, then you don't have to worry about the legality of it?

Thanks guys - never thought about the attorney general. I think thats who i will ask. I think i will just get the FL too but its not as easy as just filling out the paper work - but it requires appontment for fingerprinting, 90 day wait, and the main reason i ask - $117.

It is always best to have the local CCW permit as the agreements between states can be very fickle.

+1 When in doubt call the AG's office.
