So, mind if I ask, was it cancer, cyst, fat nodule, infection? How'd you get rid of it? Etc..... |

Woah, Tec. Sorry if that came off weird. What I meant was, you're getting it removed... and I'm not sure whether I should hope that they remove a cancerous tumor, or whether it's benign (and therefore was an unnecessary operation). Uhhh... you know what, it sounds bad no matter how I put it.
In any case, I hope it works out for the best!

Sorry, I wasn't more clear. I have been having tests done for bladder cancer. Not breast cancer. Sorry if I mixed you up.
I know what you mean though when you say that you're scared. Things are running through your mind. Keeping busy through the day helps. The nights are what gets me. I can't turn my brain off. What will happen to me? My family? I've found enormous comfort in prayer. Almost as though a voice says "Don't worry everything will be all right". My first test came back OK but for some reason they want me back in for another CT scan in August. I don't know if its a good sign that they are waiting till August or not. FWIW my wife and three sisters all have had lumps in their breasts that were cysts. I sincerely hope yours turns out to be nothing serious also. I'm praying for you buddy! |

I went in Thursday for a "consultation" with the surgeon. He did another ultra sound and decided then and there to take samples of the lump in the breast.
They used needles in the breast that felt like they were coming thru my backside, to kill the pain prior to the procedure. Then they cut a 1 inch incision alongside the nipple to facilitate sending in a, what I call a grabber. You know those tools, bout 2-3 foot long, that you buy at the auto parts stores, that have the button on top of a flexible rod that you push and it pushes open a claw that you use to grab tools from wherever you have dropped them out of normal reach. Well yea, thats sorta what he used to reach into the incision area and grab about 5 samples of the lump. These were sent off to a lab to test to see if they are cancer or a cyst, or just my body's reaction to not producing enough testosterone as I get older and fatter and deciding to grow some, as the surgeon said, "breast tissue of a 13 year old girl, in one breast, for now..." , also known in the medical field as gynocomastia (sp) Due to the stitch in my boob, I have been told not to lift anything heavy or do any heavy physical work, which is what I do for a living. My breast is tender as all heck, and got pissed about having something go into it to rip some stuff out of it, so it is now slightly swollen, about 1.5 to 2 inches larger then my left breast. It probably is not cancer, per three doctors now. That is good. It probably is gynocomastia (sp), per three doctors now. That is wonderful. I always have preferred breasts to fondle, and now I will have one of my own to fondle whenever I like I have two weeks of waiting for the test results. Doctor went on vacation. Gonna try to speed up getting the test results to this thursday. |

Gynecomastia is pretty manageable, usually a testosterone patch can do the trick. In some cases though, the person opts for reduction, and that gets them back to normal. Just remember not to wear white on a rainy day, or walk into a cold room Seriously though tec, thats good news, but youre still in my prayers. |

I love those grabber tools. When I work on cars I'm always dropping bolts in places I can't reach.
Good to know its probably nothing real major. I always prefer stereo myself.
