I really appreciate the thoughts guys, well most everybody, I'm tired from working a fire job where I am redoing all the plumbing in a 36 unit apt bldg and have to re-re-reread overkill's post again (quote-I'm not sure if I hope that your lump is cancer, or hope that it gets removed and ends up being no big deal. A little terrified to do a search, but... Know that you're probably seeing worst-case stuff!) as I am suffering from brain rot (due to working in 85 degree temps with no air flow much less a/c) .

The advice on not researching this topic on the Internet is very wise, but too dam late. As far as not worrying about it till the surgeon tells me what I have, or don't have, again good advice, but that ship has sailed (trying to recall it to port but...) not only for me but also my wife who is the worlds BIGGEST worrier.

The mammogram and ultrasound both said not cancer, but the antibiotics did nothing for stopping the growth of the lump and whatever my normal doc saw scared him enough to call me and suggest seeing the surgeon for a third opinion.

As far as my doctor, he's pretty dern cool and knowledgeable. And if he doesn't know, he says he doesn't know, but will find out. On top of that he speaks English perfectly. Nothing I hate more then having a doctor who cant speak English well enough for me to understand. I had one female non-American doc I saw one time for one of my cases of epididimes(sp), as she is fondling the family jewels, I had to keep saying huh? what did you say? My wife was laughing her rear off trying to interpet for me. Nothing like having your wife laughing her butt off while your twig and berries are being fondled by another woman who can't speak a lick (hah) of English.

Again, thanks to all for the support and kind words, but please do one additional thing, grab your nuts and feel for lumps, then fondle your breasts looking for abnormalities. (please avoid doing the "self-rectal exam"). If you find any, tell your doctor soon.

Good advice. While I'm at it maybe I better check my wife out too. My wife is like yours, so I don't even tell her when something is wrong any more. I just tell her the results when it's all over.
You're lucky you have a Dr. like yours. I'm in the medical field and a lot of Dr.'s won't admit they don't know something and a lot of them forget you're not familiar with medical terminology and might as well be speaking a foreign language.
Maybe you could go back to the non-english speaking Dr. and have her check you out again while you're waiting to see the surgeon.
Hang in there

Every Indian doctor or engineer I have worked with was much better than most..Is that racist? I think it has to do with the way their culture values "circular" logic for lack of a better word. We westerners are just learning to look beyond whatever train of thought we are in, while they tend to look around a bit and consider comprehensively. It's a big generalization, but maybe a trip to the lady you can't understand would help.

oops, I typed "lay" instead of "lady". That's a textbook Freudian Slip. hehe laughing at myself..

It might help, if I could understand em!!!!

Thats one of the reasons my wife goes with me on all my appointments to the doctor, she is the interpreter. She translates what they say to me to me, and translates what I say to them, to them. For example, when I was dealing with kidney stones awhile back, I told the doctor that "my plumbing valve was bad and the pipe leaks a little, and I have a pain in the starboard back side that goes around to my undercarriage...". She translated that to the doctor as " he has a kidney stone again that is giving him a pain in the back and groin and causes extended times in the restroom voiding his urine...." . My doctor and his staff love it when I come in because I make them all laugh so hard.

My wife had a rather large (golf ball size, amybe a little bigger?) fluid-filled cyst in her breast. It felt solid when it filled up, and was tender. She had it drained a few times before they finally removed it.

Good luck to you!

Good luck with your ordeal.
I too have recently had a similar problem, and know what you're going through.
It's scary.
Put your faith in the Lord.
I'll remember you in my prayers.
