Update on the Marine killed by SWAT?
Whatever happened to those SWAT members that slaughtered him in his home?
I doubt they were charged, let alone fired.....but I am curious if someone did actually do something about this.
Anyone know? I know we have a lot of people here from Arizona, and I think that is where it happened.

His name was Jose Guerena.

As of May 2011, members of the SWAT team retained criminal defense attorney Michael Storie to represent them. On June 13, the Pima County Attorney's Office, under county attorney Barbara LaWall, released the results of their review of the shooting, concluding that "under the circumstances, and based upon our review of all the available evidence, we have concluded that the use of deadly forces by the SWAT Team members was reasonable and justified under the law. Accordingly, the Pima County Attorney's Office finds no basis to prosecute."

Six months after the raids and the killing, none of the targets of the raids have been arrested. It was revealed that none of the suspects in the raids had been observed handling, or even near, narcotic substances, in six months of constant police surveillance.

Our government is allowed to kill you, period. You, me, anyone they feel like. This isn't rhetoric or exaggeration, this is fact. Show me one officer in the last year who has had any significant punishment as a result of a bad shoot or other serious complaint. You won't find it.

I remember seeing this the day it happened. That was the day I lost all faith in the police. I no longer trust them to do the right thing.

Reread the whole story. The warrant was bogus, no contraband was found, the cops lied and said he shot first but the safety was still on, the police did not identify themselves clearly. You want to sit here and say its ok for cops to kill people from a bad raid because the homeowner was afraid for his life?

Calm down Gloria, I never said it was ok for cops to kill people. It was an unfortunate situation. He came into the hallway with an AR15, so they shot him. That's exactly what they're trained to do. Should they have asked him first what his intentions were? Furthermore, if you want to get angry with someone, direct it towards the hi-ups who did the investigation and ordered the warrant. The SWAT team was ordered to execute a search warrent, and make sure their team got home safe. That's exactly what they did. They were doing nothing more than following orders.
Again, it was an unfortunate situation and outcome, but don't blame the SWAT team. They were just following orders and SOP's.

they lied, therefore they knew what they did was wrong, therefore they comitted murder. If you'd done that to a member of some of the units I've been in... you'd be killed in retaliation, apparently his unit is very tolerant.
EDIT: I just watched the video theya re the most incompetent F ups I"ve ever seen do a raid they should all be charged criminally for undertaking a life altering mission that they are 100% too incompetent to do. I've been on raids I've hit houses been shot at and shot at people. They have no business being designated as SWAT they are incompetent from outside I can only imagine therefore they are incompetent inside in their actions. Absolutely ridiculous give someone body armor a gun and call them trained.
So summary 100% bogus warrant
Messed up opening the door, making sounds of incompetence, no one in their right mind would assume thats a SWAT team
Caused the shooting
Did not render first aid when they had an ENTIRE SWAT team to go in and cover eachother while doing so
LIED ABOUT IT
Give them the chair, seriously I would have no problem executing them. When you strap on body amror and a gun you are saying you can do something, if you are full of it your comitting murder.

Yes, following orders, but no one said for them to be bumblef*CK$ while doing it. Watch the video again closely. One idiot stumbles which causes them all to start firing, even blindly around the corner all while his wife/kid were in the house. The cops BLEW IT big time on this one. I wouldn't put it past these idiots to have planted the rifle on him. Plus the fact they waited for like 2-hrs to render aid and let him bleed to death while the wife pleaded for them to let her get him.
The cops screwed the pooch ALL up and down on this one. At least they didn't kill his dog like they usually do on such raids. Probably because he didn't have one. They might have killed someone else's though, what with all the rounds HITTING Neighbor's HOUSES!!!
