Took me a little while to track down that post, but the recommendations are excellent.

Use pellets, BBs bounce if they miss. I use an RWS M-48, nice and powerfull side lever action.

XDfunny may have different squirrels in his yard than the rest of us. Every squirrel I've ever seen has looked pretty much the same. Harmless unless you feed them, in which case they become annoying and come around looking for more food. Not a good idea since you don't want to get too close to any rodent....a bite means for sure at least a tetanus shot and possibly even rabies. But they never bother anyone unless you lure them in.
HOWEVER, since XDFunny lives in an altered reality, it is certainly possible that the squirrels he has to deal with are far more dangerous. Probably they are "liberal extremist Bush hating" rodents and heavily armed and dangerous. Some living in his yard, but most living in his nightmares with the rest of the bogeymen. Under his bed and in his closets when the lights go out. Might look something like this: ![]() The guy in the picture was attacked immediately after the above photo was snapped. The results were too gory to display here. Suffice it to say he now goes by the name "Lefty". LOL Peace, D.

In MD I had a very bad squirrel problem. They little buggars were chewing down my house. They chewed all the trim around my back door, chewed through all the screens on my screened porch, my satellite coax cable, and were gnawing on my wood siding. I've never seen such nuttiness (no pun intended) from a squirrel! I figured that I needed to rid my property of some varmint or at least this nutty blood line of squirrels. I tried traps but they only caught one a week and then I'd have to drive way out to release the screaming varmint. I knew there had to be a quicker way. I was losing my house! I had some land but there were 2 neighbors within 100 yards of me, so it needed to be relatively quiet. I tried subsonic rounds. Bad mistake. They were loud. I tried BB guns but none were powerful enough to really do the job. I then bought a Ruger bolt action .22 and some Super Colibri ammo. With the exception of some inconsistent rounds, this did the trick. The regular colibiris are not powerful enough. The supers worked well. They sounded like two large rocks being slapped together. I figured one or two shots here and there won't raise any suspicion and it didn't. Fixed the problem.

The Enemy
![]() After reading everyone’s great advice, but in deference to my wife’s revulsion at the thought of harming those cuties, I bought the Crossman Air Soft P50 6mm pistol at Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s a non-blowback, CO2 powered, semi-auto, 1911 replica and holds 17 rounds. It feels like the real thing and is really fun to shoot. I sighted it in with paper targets at the squirrel’s favorite bird feeder, 24 feet from just inside the rear door of my garage. The fiber-optic front sight and fixed rear notch work quite well. After a couple of weeks of terrorizing the two squirrels, they have almost disappeared!!! I saw one the other day and soon as it spotted my door opening it took off like a rocket. I was able to ‘harvest’ (a little hunter lingo here) a chipmunk though. It flew back several feet after I shot it square from about 15 feet. I had to finish him off with a head shot though. Next time I will take a picture of my trophies for all to see and marvel. If the squirrels need to be completely eradicated, I’ll take Jettubby’s advice and go the .22 route. Tom

Tom, I would vote for using a .22 with CCI CBs at the minimum....you don't want any wounded squirrels on or around your property. You want them DEAD or healthy. Not in between.
Peace, D.
