I work for Domino's Pizza as a delivery driver. I was on a double at midnight and I cruised through a red light while making a right turn (California Stop). Wham...flashing lights. So I pull over and im waiting for the cop to come up and I remember...my Springer Black Stainless is in the glove compartment with my registration.
The cop walks up, "Can I see your license?"

"Sure," as I retrieve it. "Officer, I think I should tell you I have a loaded gun in my glove compartment with my regestration."

"Okay, my partner will retrieve it, is the door unlocked on the other side?"

"Yes."

The other officer takes my 1911 and four mags and the other then tells me to get my regestartion.

"Do you have any other firearms?" He asks.
"Umm, no...not on me."
"Do you have a CCW?"
"I haven't sent in my money order yet."
"Okay, hold on a min."

He walks off and Im sitting in my car wondering if A. Im getting a ticket and B. if they are gonna give me a hard time about having the gun in my glove w/o a CCW (even though its technically legal in AZ). After about five minutes, he comes back and hands me my license and reg.

"Okay, you need to slow down and watch those lights, but I have to ask you a question."
"Okay," I replied.
"Where did you get that sweet a** 1911?"
"Umm, Shooter's World," I respond.
"Oh yeah I get my gear there!" He says excitedly. "Did you customize it or did it come with all those bells and whistles?"
"It came like that."
"It looks like a real nail driver," He says.
"Yeah it is."
"Wow, its really nice, what kind of ammo you running? Its got some yellow stuff in the tips."

"They're magsafe SWAT rounds, frangible +P. I also have the mags loaded with Winchester Rangers." I say.

"Cool, Ill have to look into those magsafes, the rangers are nice. Well, don't load it until we leave, have a good one."

I go to leave and they put the lights on again and honk their horn. The cop comes walking up and hands me a spare mag. 'Whoops, I almost stole this from you," He says.

Crazy cops...they were probably playing with it while they ran my plates lol.

WOW lucky you

I must agree they were probably playing with it but never got around to running the plates LOL and to cover it up they issued a warning. Either way you walked cool!!

Blackstainless do kick ass.I thought I was going to get a visit from the po po this week he followed me for a couple miles (just got the big truck plated) but no stop.

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not.......but my wife has gotten 9 warnings since she got her CHL. That's sure paid for the class and license. Our instructor said he couldn't guarentee it, but he predicted that we would get more warnings. I've only gotten two warnings. I keep telling her to slow down, but hey, it's a big state.
