My New Gun box **updated pics mounted**
Havent had the funds to get me a home safe yet for my firearms. Since my sun if going to be year old soon, I want to get an early jump on getting my firearms locked up for our safety and most important his. Got this off Amazon for $33 bucks 2 day shipping. Just woundering where would be the stongest place to bolt this down to, closet shelf is not my fav spot.
Stack-On Steel Pistol Box with removable shelf, Black
Got my lock box over the weekend and mounted this in my closet about 6 feet on top shelf. Not going to say this is theif proof but most def child proof, it is bolted down with 6 screws and bolts. Here is the finished box

What a coincidence, I just bought that exact same model myself off of Amazon and it arrived last night in the mail! Very happy with it. The top shelf easily holds boxes of ammo, a flashlight and a few other nick-nacks and the bottom will easily hold my G17 when I bring it home on Saturday! For your intended use, I think you'll be happy with it. I've used other Stack-On products in the past and they've been outstanding, especially for the price.
ETA: To answer your question, I'm actually mounting this in the corner of an elevated closet shelf, but will mount it both to the wall and the shelf itself (the safe has holes on all sides, top and bottom. I figure 2 point mounting, one of which being into a wall, should be sufficient for what I need. The floor under a bed might also be a good option.

Cool! I read some good reviews figured its not bad for the money. Im glad it worked for you I cant wait to get a hold of it. I was hesitant about the closet shelf but as you stated in the corner would be great, if I can locate a stud in the all to really get some depth when bolting down. Thanks for the advice ill give an update as soon as it arrives!!

Wow, that's a good deal!
If you can't bolt it where you want it, conceal it, some clothes tossed on top to look like a dirty clothes pile in the closet might deter would be thieve's interest.

Glad to help. One thing of note: the box is somewhat more rectangular than stock photos make it appear. When I got it I was a little surprised to find it's longer (like a hot dog) than I expected, as the pics make it seem wider and more square (like a hamburger if you will). Still plenty wide enough to easily fit my hand and extract a full size gun, and the depth allows it to store a lot of ammo boxes. Just an FYI on something that I noticed when I received mine, but not a deal killer or real issue at all.

No prob, thanks you just made me hungry too! Yeah I plan on just keeping my secondary pistol I dont carry daily in there with some rounds.
Zombie Hunter ..thats a good idea, I think this vs just having the gun in plain view lowers chances a tad bit, Ill feel more at ease
