An interresting slant on trhings

Interesting slant on things…
AMERICA'S HUNTERS --- Pretty Amazing!
The world's largest army... America 's hunters!
I had never thought about this...

A blogger added up the deer license sales
in just a handful of states and
arrived at a striking conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters

this season in the state of Wisconsin .
Allow me to restate that number:

Over the last several months,Wisconsin's hunters

became the eighth largest army in the world.

More men under arms than in Iran .

More than France and Germany combined.

These men deployed to

the woods of a single American state,
Wisconsin, to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.

That number pales in comparison to the 750,000

who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and
Michigan's 700,000 hunters, all of whom
have now returned home safely.
Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia
and it literally establishes the fact
that the hunters of those four states alone
would comprise the largest army in the world.
And then add in the total number of hunters
in the other 46 states.
It's millions more.

The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign

invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting....

it's not just a way to fill the freezer..
It's a matter of national security.

******************************
*********
That's why all enemies,
foreign and domestic,
want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought,

Well, until you account for the ICBMs that do most of the work and then the invasion force comes in to tie up loose ends. I'm just sayin'...

Isoroku Yamamoto (1884-04-041943-04-18) was a Fleet Admiral and Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) during World War II. A quote that has been attrubuted to him many times is, "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." While there is some doubt he actually made the statement, it does reflect a note of truth.

I like the idea, but am dubious of the statistics. I don't know how it is in other states, but in Tennessee you buy a hunting AND fishing license combined in one. If you go off of those licenses that are bought, you are assuming EVERYONE bought a license and is hunting. Some may buy the license and just fish.

I do agree though. If someone wanted to invade the U.S. they'd have to deal with A LOT of armed rednecks (me included)! lol

In WI you buy a specific license for deer hunting. The only combo license is a fishing/small game lisence. So he was talking strictly about deer hunting.

I thought it might be something like that, but still not sure how ALL 50 states operate. In Tennessee you buy a "big game stamp" for deer and turkey. Still like the idea of all those people wandering around in the woods, armed, and very few accidents. Add them all together, it's quite a formidable army.

Very cool

but the danger is not invasion. The danger, like Mexico, is the failure of the government.
