City Worker Fired for Turning in Found Gun

Ridiculous. City worker finds gun on mowed lawn, waits for cops who don't show, guy takes gun and turns it in after completing work. Good Job keeping a dangerous damaged gun off the streets, right? City fires 23-yr veteran for "possessing a firearm" at work. How stupid can people be on these "zero tolerance" type policies? Why can't we just weed all these idiots out and send them to the UK or something?

Because we are infected with them, like a disease that spreads and has no cure. They may be our downfall.

Question

Maybe he was on the "list" and they were looking to push him out due to yrs tenured, prior transgressions @ work, etc. I worked at the state Dept of Trans. when I was in college and there were always a few guys who had been there forever that were not liked by HR or their supes...my gut tells me there is more to this story than just what was reported.

Having zero tolerance policies is wrong 100% of the time.
