You're not disabled, you're lazy.
Is anyone here on disability? If you are, you are cheating the system. If you can sit at a computer, there are jobs you can do. If you can talk, there are jobs for you.
I am sick and tired of people leeching off other people simply because they have a bad back. It's pathetic.
The mentally retarded guy that can't walk and can barely talk has a full time job at Walmart, yet these bums sit at home watching Springer all day because they're missing a finger.
IMO the only people that should ever be on disability are
1. People who are so physically disabled they cannot even breathe on their own.
2. People who are NEWLY seriously injured. You lose a leg you have 6 months to get your **** in order, or you're gonna be missing a leg and homeless.
3. People who are injured temporarily (broken arm, surgery, etc.) but are not covered under workmans comp.
Don't say it's an entitlement. Paying $120 a month into social security for 10 years then collecting $1,300 a month for 40 is a LEECH.

Agreed
I know someone with asthma getting their Gubt check, this person could work at many different jobs, yet chooses not to, they have never worked a day in their life to pay in anything into the system
I also know someone that is one of the best welders around, he had a hip replacement and now draws full disability, yet he continues to work on the side making tax free money
Talk about leeches...........
I have often thought about calling in on them

As a matter of fact, I am. I've been drawing VA disability for more than 30 years after destroying my knees and back while serving in the Army. And, though I'm "entitled" to avail myself of VA services, I choose not to. I have spent many thousands of dollars, out of pocket, over the years, for medical coverage and care and consider the small check I get every month a supplement to my costs.
Even with my employer's medical plan you can imagine how much I've spent "out of pocket" over thirty years of knee surgeries leading to two total knee replacements, constant back issues culminating in fusion of one third of my spine and a fair amount of residual pain.
I work every single day and live with it and deal with it. So, I would just say to you, be careful how you generalize. Unless you've "been there", you can't judge.

Insensitive generalizations in the middle of the night on the internet. Someone must have gotten up with a bellyache.

I am not on disability, nor have I ever been on disability, and certainly never want to be on disability, so allow me to point out a few things.
You ask how a person can sit at a computer and be on disability, but some of those people can only sit at a computer for ten minutes at a time, and then they have to lay down.
There are alot of times computer work requires mental sharpness, but people on disablity for back are on several pain medications that can blurr there cognative abilities. And lets face it; not every one has the brains to do computer / desk work.
I think there are a lot of people who abuse the system, and I think they should not only be kicked off, but should have to repay it. However is all too easy for us to sit and judge someone on disablity; especially when it is not a physical disability that we can see. My father was put on disability because of his heart. If you looked at him you would have figured he was healthy and able to work, but that was not the case.
So be careful how harshly you judge others.

I dated a girl who's dad was on disability for his back, didn't stop from him 3 day rides on his Harley, putting brakes on his truck or other hard labor that only benefitted him.

My mother is on disability. She lost half her foot to diabetes. She comes home from the hospital today from nearly loosing her other foot. No one will hire her. Her last job would only allow her to work part time. Why? No one wants to have to insure her. The last full time job she had dropped insurance availability for her department. Every other department had insurance available. Guess how many people were in here department? Two. Her and a woman who had survived breast cancer. So, where is a 60 yr old diabetic with 1 and a half feet going to get a job? In this economy? I used to feel the same about food stamps. Then I lost my job. I work 3 part time jobs. Some weeks are OK. Some weeks I get 10 hours between all three jobs. In the last 7 months, I have gotten 40 hours between all three jobs one time. I have 4 kids. Before we got on food stamps, there were days I did not eat so that my wife and kids could. I now have a different opinion of food stamps. Are there abuses? Absolutely. Should the abuses be punished? Definitely. For me, FS are temporary until I can get a job that supports my family consistently. I hope your opinion of disability does not change the hard way.

I have a friend who had to have a kidney transplant when he was 21. The antirejection meds he needs every month to basically continue living cost OVER $1,300. His disability and the ****** parttime job at Walmart BARELY pay for them...
