Yes. And he is entitled to his opinion, no matter how misguided it is.

To look at me, one would never know I'm disabled. Unless you catch me on a very bad day, I hide my pain fairly well. There are all sorts of disabilities that can keep someone from being able to function effectively in the real world.
Personally, I would love to find a company that would allow me to work at my computer 10-12hrs a week.
Oh, there is one very IMPORTANT requirement I have:
Be sure & let the company know-
(These hours must be of my own choosing and I may not be able to work more than 5min at a time on some days.)
Anybody know of a company like that?
What about you OP?
You seem to have the inside story. How about helping a guy out so I can feel like I contributing to my family. Frankly, I'm tired of feeling like a COMPLETE & TOTAL failure as a husband and as a father.
I would love to be able to get a good job & support my family!
Can someone, ANYONE, tell me WHERE these jobs the OP are talking about are?
OP; How do I go about finding such jobs & getting hired?
Again- I would love to be able to get a good job & support my family!

Yeah, and what some of you truly disabled people need to realize is that for every one of you, there are 10 that do not have a problem that really keeps them from working.
I know a girl that has tried for a long time to get on disability for carpal tunnel syndrome (sp?). Luckily she has been denied.
I know another that actually lived with me while I was in college, she got a tummy ache for 2 or 3 days about 3 times a year. She tried for years and years and years to get on disability. Finally it went through. Not only that, they paid her disability for the 5 previous years she was denied. She got a check for like $50,000 and went on a ******* shopping spree. Doctor has NEVER found anything wrong with her.
When I knew her she was always fine until she needed a pity-party or didn't want to do some work.
Then on the other hand you have my parents. They started out as farmers. My mom lost her leg in college, dad lost his eye on the farm. His back and elbows are also shot. He has had multiple surgeries that have never fixed them and he is in pain all day every day. My mom has lost her hearing (that alone is enough for some to get disability).
They moved off the farm and started a small business 14 years ago that now profits over a million dollars a year.
And they are in far worse pain and have more difficult barriers than most ON disability.
A lot can work. They just don't want to.

Wrong Buzz124. Read the subject line and the first sentence:
You're not disabled, you're lazy.
Is anyone here on disability? If you are, you are cheating the system

This wouldn't be the first thread that Adyta started that had trolling tendencies.
Although his OP did have some substance in it, but as Vidego stated, the beginning was a bit too general..

My mom died with a bad hip, she was in pain everyday of her life, everytime she moved she would almost scream, it was painful for myself and everyone in the family to see her in that pain, pills and shots didnt do anything for her after using them for several years
The Docs said if she had the operation it would kill her, it ended up doing that anyway, long story I dont want to get into how it happened
My mom never even thought about applying for a disability check
It is the people that abuse the system that is in place that make the others look bad that truely need help
It does not make it right that the abusers make others look bad but it happens

I am sick and tired of people leeching off other people simply because they have a bad back. It's pathetic.
The mentally retarded guy that can't walk and can barely talk has a full time job at Walmart, yet these bums sit at home watching Springer all day because they're missing a finger.
IMO the only people that should ever be on disability are
1. People who are so physically disabled they cannot even breathe on their own.
2. People who are NEWLY seriously injured. You lose a leg you have 6 months to get your **** in order, or you're gonna be missing a leg and homeless.
3. People who are injured temporarily (broken arm, surgery, etc.) but are not covered under workmans comp.
Don't say it's an entitlement. Paying $120 a month into social security for 10 years then collecting $1,300 a month for 40 is a LEECH.
|
Six months is not much time for a person that did manual labor and lost a leg to find a job at a desk. It'll likely take a while to either find or become qualified for a desk job. Ex: Dude makes like $60k in the oil fields, but gets all busted up. Dude is gonna need years of training/schooling before he can make $60k at a desk.
Further, once the person is past that 6 month mark, he is going to be on medicaid, food stamps, etc.
I'd go on, but everyone else in this thread has illustrated how wrong you completely are.
Good day. Hopefully tomorrow is a better one.

Sorry, but she was certainly entitled to apply.

Only the small minded would allow "...the abusers make others look bad...".
That is their problem. I refuse to "look bad".
