Lol, no 3d for me, probably have to get a cheaper LCD or give up my next gun purchase from my bonus. Life's a beach eh? Probably not many ammo purchases in the near future, guess I'm shooting 22 for a while.

If the storms get to bad, I pull the plug on everything but the fridge.

Bummer....Guess my whole house surge protector installed at the breaker box for $250 is a real good deal!

Wasn't even that bad of a storm, maybe 15 minutes long. Three loud booms and one extremely loud one directly over the house that got me. Oh well that's life I suppose.

Sad to hear that.
I had that happen about 3 years ago. Took out my wireless router, cable modem and a printer. Also took out several outlets on that circuit.
Many hundred and the work of an electrical contractor later and I was back to normal but yes....a total pain in the butt!
Had what I thought was a decent surge protector....didn't stop it.

Keep an eye on the refrigerator and/or freezer. Some times they will die within a few weeks.
I got hit a few years ago...it hit a large pine tree in my back yard. Took out my DLS modem/router. But also removed the one impediment to building a pool. So it cost me a $4it load

I work in a 911 center and have learned a few lessons the hard way about protecting our computer equipment. One of the simplest things you can do is put a loose knot in the power cord that plugs your surge protector into the wall. The power surge is unable to make the loop and will blow out the cord.
