The teenagers who murdered this father will more than likely not get the death penalty in Harris County because of their age. This is once again another reason to stay armed in Houston and Bellaire. Ordinary folks are targets for these thugs.

Before it was acceptable, I often carried a loaded Colt Python loaded with 357 Magnum handloads. In more than one situation it made a difference.

When I worked on Harrisburg for a manufacturer as an engineering manager, I kept a loaded Ruger Mini 14 (not my favorite weapon) as my hidden pickup weapon. In that neighborhood, it was a necessity. That was in the mid 1980's.

If you live around Houston, you get the idea.

I assume the father wasn't armed? With 4 on 1, I'd say it's best to comply totally unless you have really good clear shots at all of them and your family is already safe. If they immediately attacked with no provocation, then they should be put down like dogs.

It was an article about Jonathan Davis during the gold rush days in CA. His party of 3 were bushwacked by a huge gang. Shot down 7 with two cap & ball revolvers, then killed 4 more with a Bowie knife. Seems far fetched, but supposedly there were witnesses to the fight. There were some questions as to whether there were 11 or 14 outlaws.

F that, shoot the closest one then the one who moves his hands not his feet and then keep shooting if anyone turns back towards you.

Better odds then betting my life on the responsibility of 4 amped up felony assaulting criminals who momentarily will have my 1911 in their possession.

Just going for my gun has broken of an attack if 6 before, I think firing it less than 20% are going to be sticking around, and those that do stick around I shoot.
