Ok, now air compressors
lol
I'm gonna get a small blasting cabinet and am looking at portable compressors. I already know I need about 5cfm at 90psi but what about oiled vs oil less?
From time to time it will get used for blasting off surfaces and airing up tires and perhaps maybee even a little spray painting ( but probobly not). It will probobly be a lay-down type rather than vertical so it can get parked under the bench the blast cabinet will sit on.
Price would be about $200, I've seen several that are acceptable at that price range.
Share your knowledge please .

For just occasional use the oil-free type will probably suit your needs. If you need something you're going to use heavily and want it to last, the oiled type is more durable. Oil-free compressors usually use teflon inserts and coatings in the cylinder(s), and these can wear out faster than oil-lubed models as well as being noisier.
As for which model to look at, I'm afraid I'm not informed on specifics.

if you need 5cfm at 90psi, you better plan on an air compressor putting out at least 7.5 cfm. Tools are highly under rated on their use, and compressors highly over rated.

I've got a sandblaster. Couple actually. You need to know that the listed air volume and pressure (5 at 90psi) is marginal at best. Sadly, they don't work for snit at those low pressures.
I would save up and get a large one that puts out 10-15 cfm at 150 psi. Don't forget to work out how you will dry the air. Wet and blasters don't mix.

I question if the 5 CFM is enough too.
Personally I would pass on the oilless. They are noisy as hell and don't hold up well. Spend more money and get something better.

Oil less Vs oil
Oil less is louder, it won't last as long, and it costs more

So there is no real downside ( other than possible cost ) to the oiled compressors?
If it's possible to put a water trap between the compressor and the tank will I still get condensation INSIDE the tank?

Yep, belt drive, oil lubed pump is the way to go.
For what you want to do, you'll want a belt drive oil lubed compressor.
No matter what, you'll get condensation in the tank, the pressure forces the moisture out of the air. Just drain it often.
Definitely get a moisture trap for the outlet. I think I paid $20 for mine.
Don't think you'll get what you want in the $200 range.

anything 4 and up IMO is expensive enough you should get oil so it lasts/has some resale value I went through this 4 months ago ended up buying a monster oil less used from a friends daughter, for 140 bucks, it was a 6.9 at that price I wasn't too worried how long it lasted but if your buying new spend the extra 30-45 bucks to get oil.
if your a crazy gambling man, like me you might try getting a bigger one than you need used for less money. pay attention to valves on the hozes on a used one, they can rust/rubber o rings crack and don't hold a seal anymore.
