the only way i am able to hit almost perfect center mass is the have the front sight lined up a hair closer to the left dot on the rear sight. getting really frustrated when i put the front sight dead middle of rear sight and i hit to the right about 1-1.5in

I suppose you could move the rear sight a bit with a sight press, but at that point it would be much better to just replace them with adjustable sights, especially for someone who want the sight dialed in 100% dead on.

All my XDm sights have seem to be right on out of the box. I'm not saying I bull every shot. Ammo choice, grip, distance all that factors in also.

not sure on how much you have shot handguns before but some people tend to push down right befor firing expecting the kick. not trying to say you don't know how to shoot or anything. one thing my grapapa would do with my younger family members that never shot a handgun befor is he would give it to them without one in the barrel and tells them to go ahead and shot it. testing them to see if the push it or not. Just an idea on what it could be.

i really just want to figure out and want to know if its me or the gun being off. if its me then i want to correct it for when i get out to 15-25 yrds. i will be off alot more than an 1in out at that distance im sure. i am interested in getting into competition and want to get the fundamentals down so if my shooting is off then i need to correct it

You need to fire several groups from a good rest before you do anything. That is necessary to track the issue.

Yup, isolate the variables, then get an idea of what is actually happening. XDs are boresighted and shot at the factory.
Is the OP left handed by any chance?

If it is an XD you can check if they are center by looking in the dovetail and seeing if it is centered between the centering marks

Have a friend shoot it and see where it shoots. My dad has a Beretta 96 and i shoot 2" left with it but can shoot one ragged hole. I swore up and down it was off. He shoots it dead center. There is just something about that gun that makes me push shots.
