Sorry everyone not sure if this goes here but was infuriated this morning when I woke up and read this in my local newspaper (The Miami Herald).

Get Guns, not Hoodies, off the streets

I wrote up a response but apparentlty after the 2 commenters before me she disabled comments or something because I can't post anything from anywhere, my comment to her article is below if anyone wants to chime in here or try on her blog which is above and was printed in the Herald.

Stuff like this gets my blood boiling, all these anti-gun people actually believe that getting rid of guns - by legally law abiding carrying citizens - will change everything and it will be a utopia or something. They are so ignorant, because crooks, thieves, criminals call them what you want are so kind and follow laws so closely. So much so I wish sometimes we would get rid of guns just so I can see their reactions when they are gone and be able to say 'See, I told you so'

Mama sass why don't you educate yourself a little before you speak on a subject. According to your anti-gun b.s. logic then any mistake any of us ever make on a blog or paper should be a pencil or a computers fault. The. Neighborhood watch captain is your suspect not the gun. Just as your kids have been learning drills I did as a kid too and it wasn't because some gun nut was going to walk in the room. Don't blame the gun it was the tool used, although Trayvon's case is a tragedy Zimmerman could have easily used a pencil to stab him, a knife, you choose. In this case it happened to be a gun. If you did some research you would see that law abiding citizens that LEGALLY carry firearms with their Florida cwp go through background checks, fingerprinting, passport picture taking, questioning as well as basic firearm instruction and safety course. I may not be able to speak for those that illegally carry guns or buy them in an illegal manner but we need to focus on gun safety laws and not gun restricting laws. The cops you trust so much are reckless why dont you check out the bottom front page of the Miami Herald 'cops suspended for drinking,speeding' they stil carry a gun. How about local and state front page '14 shot outside N. Dade funeral home'. Don't blame the gun take notice of the thinking, actions and motives of the person behind the gun. The gun is a tool albeit it can be a dangerous one but a tool nonetheless. There are many tools in everyday use that can be just as dangerous but people choose a gun because it's easier, if you take Gina out of the situation it's just gonna be a different tool next time or an illegal gun. Remember criminals don't give 2 thoughts to our laws they do what they want. Before you write another post and have it printed why don't you try to learn a little first about what you are writing so you don't sound ignorant.
