MI has some pretty messed up firearms definitions. The little Crossman weak as heck dart/pellet/bb pistol I got as a kid definitely falls under the definition of a firearm, and since it is a pistol, I am technically guilty of having an unregistered pistol.
You could even make the claim that a drinking straw is a firearm here since I could "fire" a dangerous projectile (sewing pin with a cotton-ball) out of it with compressed air

G115BA, I see local kids walk around the neighborhood with bb guns all the time during summer. Heck last year I saw a guy walk out of a True Value with a rifle in hand walk down two blocks to where his car was parked, caddy corner to two banks, and nobody but me noticed. By rifle I mean a rifle in plain sight not a case or box. Two weeks ago on my way to work after lunch this guy was walking down the sidewalk with a pistol "soft case" down main street.
