I could see a use for 'em...
Say you hear something go bump in the night, not certain what's there...tos one of these down the hallway, or down the stairs and illuminate the room without having to enter into it.
I don't think I'm gonna rush right out and buy any, though.

I would get some just so I could say "I have tactical balls".

The IR ones, yes.
White light ones do not seem to be restricted.

I designed something like this my freshman year of college in mechanical engineering class of some sort. I definitely see the use, mine were tennis ball sized though and about 300 lumens, youd need tinted lenses even on a night raid to use. Idea was create enough pain you can just walk in and tase, great solution for a house with children in it. Can you imagine the lawsuit from a divorced parent who was in no way associated with the criminal interprise suing over flashbang permenant hearing loss in a 2 year old?
Then these came out the next year, makes sense to me, didn't you see kick ass the movie? the girl uses her pistol light in strobe function for a similar thing, keep them shooting at that point. But with the balls it will be moving, much scarier for a moment, thus much more attention grabbing.
Someone said on here years ago when I first joined that they were going to get a few and carry 2... don't remember what came of that.

these have a serious tactical advantage for law enforcement, envision if you will... you have a team outside a meth lab at night with a entry crew, you cut the power and do a breach and clear. you throw your tactical balls in the door and the bad guys will drop to the ground and clutch their sides in pain as they rofl at you while you shoot at them -_-...

While I do see a potential use for them, it is still limited IMO. But it is always good to have tools in your tool belt.
Now this one is just funny!
