I like IL; lived here most of my life. It has been a good winter and with that, a good start to Spring. We have dumb political leaders who are doing what they can to retain power. That said, understand that with each passing day, their grip weakens and people are waking up. IL politics is nothing more than Chicago politics that oozed South. Those outside of Cook County and those not on public aid have figured it out.
IL has a great history of politics. Some good, some not so good. Lincoln comes to mind.
The recording of the police is a 1A issue that will go to the courts, where it should be decided.

Old School-- as much as I hate the politicians in this state and the city of Chicago, I agree with you. I am out in the sticks ( cornfields actually) and see hardworking citizens busting their backs to make a living so that the slime in Chicago can just take it. Truly can get a man choked up to see how it just gets taken, like it means nothing. They can try but in the end GOOD MEN prevail and I believe that most people are good.
This Chicago disease has been a longtime making and I am seeing a change up there as well. I approach a lot of people in my workday and I ask political questions and it makes my day when I get an answer I did not expect. I think there is hope for real change, it may take time, but they didn't ruin this state overnight. They have their agendas melded deep in the government.

I love Wisconsin. Lived in several different states before realizing what I was missing in Wisconsin.
Tell you what, since I am neither fat, I have a college education from a major university and have never worn, nor would I ever, wear a cheesehead, I take no offense to your stereotype of Wisconsinites.
Bandwagon jumpers? Really? Did the criticisms of California really just start? There has never been a time that I've liked or ever wanted to visit your fair state. There's nothing redeeming about it to me. I'll take my concealed carry, open carry, hunting, fishing, right wing nutjob of a Governor, trees and no pollution of Wisconsin any day of the week and 4 times on Sunday.
And frozen tundra? Really? It's warmer here today than it is in Santa Cruz...See how I did that? Kinda awesome huh!
