Agreed... Bad enough he did this but looks like some other heads will roll as well. Doesn't sound like the guy should have been active at that point

I would agree with leaving immediately. I was at LT Calley's Firebase in Quang Ngai Province. Part of my tour of the Firebase Dottie was to see Calley's bunker after the fact.

When an American Soldier commits a crime like this, the UMCJ kicks in. An Article 32 investigation will determine the level of Court Marshall. I personally see this as a slight on all fighting soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen. He insulted all of us.

I also see this as a command failure from the CG down to the platoon leader or platoon commander. If they knew their men, they could have done more to prevent this.

This is unacceptable period.
