Ya know I seem to remember the US screwing something up in Iran...Operation Eagle Claw...it's unfortunate but sometimes poop happens.

its not an american operation, and I heard from a little bird, that certain operation in a 3rd world country(Peru) got all the BG dead, no hostages killed(guy who died, did from heart attack) and 2 KIA? and couple of wounded entry guys? been a while since I played over there.

It's explained in the article this was a last ditch effort/assault against a position they only knew about for a few days against men who suspected an assault would occur. The other examples provided notwithstanding, the Bin Laden operation had extensive planning and the element of surprise. Not comparable by civilians like us in any way, shape or form.

I wasn't there and I've never been in a raid like THAT, but I've done my fair share of raids, attacks and snatch & grabs and I can say for sure that the smallest detail can screw the entire operation up, such as the light reflected off of a piece of aluminum into somebody's eyes, or a fart.

British special forces are right up there in skill as noted by many. Crap happens even to U.S. special forces. They had very little time to train and come up with a plan.
I seem to remember some pretty weak plans by the US special forces during the the invasion of Grenada and Panama.
