This is fairly close to me. Appears to be a good shoot, but the shooter could be viewed as the aggressor by following the vehicle. Following another vehicle through several turns just to get a plate number? Not buying that.
However the other driver did escalate it to self defense levels by getting out and striking the shooter.

Two motorists who did not know each other argued after pulling into a Palm Harbor subdivision, and one was fatally shot by the other early Tuesday, Pinellas County deputies said.
Brandon Patrick Baker, 30, of Palm Harbor, was killed about 2:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of Seagull Drive, Pinellas County deputies said.
Seth Browning, 23, told detectives he was concerned about Baker's driving on County Road 611, and in an attempt to obtain tag information followed his vehicle onto Boot Ranch Road, then onto Seagull Drive, where the vehicles, as well as a third car, came to a stop.
Browning said Baker exited his vehicle and then approached Browning's car aggressively. Browning, a security guard, said he used pepper spray on Baker and on the driver of the third vehicle, Brandon Baker's twin brother, Christopher Baker, who was also approaching Browning's car, deputies said.
Browning said Brandon Baker continued to approach him in his vehicle, then reached in and punched him. Browning said he then pulled out his gun and shot him, detectives said.
Browning called 911 and remained on the scene. He was not on duty at the time and was authorized to carry a gun by his employer, detectives said.
Christopher Baker and a passenger in his vehicle were not injured.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is continuing.
legal shoot but he put himself in the situation... so preventable and not the purpose of carrying a gun.

It sounds like it could be a "legal" shoot but it seems this guy was also looking for trouble. I hope he really feared for his life just because the guy tried to punch him. Don't see why he couldn't have just driven his car away, called police, and waited. It's pretty sad a guy lost his life over a little road rage.

Sounds like a good shoot to me. Did he have a good reason to follow the guy? The article doesnt seem to explain what his reasoning was. Did the other guy simply piss him off, or was he drunk and driving down a side walk full of people?

I've followed drunks before so I can give a good description to the police, and if possible, lead the police right to him. I bet some of you have done similar things. But nooooo, now that's "putting himself in the situation" and negating his right to self defense? The namby-pamby armchair quarterbacks really do amaze me.

It may or may not have been a legal shoot in MI. MI law says if you do anything to escalate the situation knowing you have a gun to back you up if you get in over your head, it is not self defense.
He did 2 things that may or may not be considered escalation; the following and the pepper spray. Spraying 2 guys coming at you with pepper spray won't stop them, it will just piss them off and make it so they can't see your gun. pepper spray is used to help subdue (vary hard to subdue 2 people buy yourself) or give you an opening to escape.
road rage is rarely one sided. that and the other factors have me thinking this wasn't such a good shoot.

Source? List the statute and the language within it please, because here's what I see.

Your title says "another road rager", but I don't see anything about "road rage" in the story. Maybe that's what it is, maybe it isn't.
I sure hope you and many others like you on this site and others never get called to jury duty in a self-defense case. You all end up sounding like a bunch of Bloombergs.
