Cheap calling overseas

As some of you may know I can find people who rip others off online. I have hit a dead end. I cant call overseas on my phone, its to much.

Whats the cheapest way to call?

I only need to call for about 5-10 min. at a time. I only have to say my peice, and let them say theirs.

Does anybody here call overseas frequently?

re

If the other party has a computer and internet access, try Yahoo Messenger. I talk to some friends in Germany that way for free and the quality is good, too.

Depending on what country you are calling Vonage has some sweet deals. We just got it about 2 months ago and are very happy. UK, Ireland, Spain, France, and Italy just got added into the unlimited plan. The rest of the rates are here. http://vonage.com/intrates.php

Try Skype if you have broadband internet access. Computer to computer is free. Computer to phone is cheap. Can do pretty good quality video call if computer to computer if either/both of you have a webcam.

I Found Sam's is AOK...............

Waldo, I buy/use Sam's phone cards. About 3.2 cents
per minute which are converted to 'units' when calling
off shore. Each country will vary as to units, such as a
call to Germany, one minute would be 5 units times the
3.2 cents per unit. I have found this to be the cheapest
way to go, plus there is no expiration date on the cards
like most other phone cards.

I think it depends on what country. When I was in China for a year my wife (girlfriend at the time) found the best deals by searching online for "china calling card" and stuff like that. Some of the places seemed real fly-by-night types but it always seemed to work out well and they had good prices.

I found out I'm going overseas next year. I plan on getting vonage and two adapters. I'll have one set up in CONUS for my family, and the other in my quarters where I'll have a local stateside number. Simple.

If the other party is not afraid to use a computer, I would second the idea about using skype or a similar vtc solution.
