If you have broadband, Vonage has good international rates.

Or a cool thing you could do is set up a Vonage account here in the States with a local number and ship the Vonage box to them (if they have broadband over there).

Then you could call them all you want and it would be a local call.

If you have broadband check into Lingo they are just like Vonage but cheaper and they include free international to most eastern European countries I've had them almost a year now never had a prob. I think Vonage is starting to add some European countries now but Lingo has been doing it from the beginning. My mother uses them to call England for her family (her whole family lives there she lives in MI like me) She calls them alot more often now like at least 3-4 times a week and never been hit with any suprise charges bill has always been the same.

Skype...

I jumped on this bandwagon today.

Great program for PC to PC, audio
and video. Lots of freebies, add on's
cost, but are very reasonable.

Hellava way to talk to me girlfriends
when their hubbies are home or not.
No trace of cell phone record to catch
you in case, which many do, of a placed
call in the middle of the night showing up
on the phone bill.

Gotta love high tech! Gotta love married
women too!! Them and firearms will be my
demise, either or.

We use Skype and it is awesome. The Mrs. goes all over, India, Japan, etc. She has her laptop, headphone and webcam. Its free when PC to PC and I get a little fun action when the webcam is on...

If you call from your PC to anywhere else it is usually under $.03 a minute.

I think there used to be a way to setup Vonage without paying extra rates. Something about activating two units here and then taking one overseas. Then you only pay your normal fee. This was years ago so they may have plugged that hole.
