In VA it is a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) you may not conceal other firearms or weapons.

Every state has its own terminology, so yes, OP, you are splitting hairs and needlessly getting your panties in a wad.

Seriousy, I think all the various ways states refer to their CC permits and/or "licenses" , just goes to show how ridiculously complicated the whole thing becomes when our "RIGHTS" are subjugated to lawyers & government bureaucrats.
