Actually, I dont think its too distorted for what you get, especially when it comes to form factor. I spec'd out a similar PC not long ago, and it was a few hundred cheaper, but when you pay for a full version of XP, and other things, it starts getting pretty close IMO. Plus, the Mac comes with so much stuff like the iLife suite.

I too have heard of horror stories about dell, but I did just receive my new dell E510 last week (as I type on the wifes toshiba laptop) the media center is pretty good, although a bit weird getting used too. Im not using it for any high end gamming and all that, but I put the system together on their website, it came out to about 1,300, they tossed me $420 off the 1300, then the free shipping.....I shopped around in person, on the internet (tiger direct, micro center among others) and for the system WITH a 19 inch digital monitor, nobody came close......

now, if you need to use their tech support, you better speak indian, or have a friend at the local 7-11 to make the call....its BRUTAL (I made a call regarding my order, not a problem)
