So I had to buy some new glasses today and was drawn to the oakleys. I love oakley sunglasses and like the idea of well made prescription ones. These are not sunglasses with clear lenses in them, but they are stamped as made in china. I know the sunglasses are all made in the US so whats the story behind these? I highly doubt they are fake, they are typical oakley quality. Its hard to find any info on the prescription models. Anyone else know anything?

I just looked at mine I have the Chop Top 4.0 but I don't see anywhere on them where there made at.
I would recommend them there very nice frames.

I also need new shooting glasses with prescription lens and am looking for suggestions ..

Had a pair of sun glasses made in gray prescription lens for outdoor, but need some clear ones too.

It doesnt bother me that they are made in china. Oakley's accessories like boots gloves and backpacks are most likely made in china too. Simply put, oakley wont put their name on a bad product. What I'm wondering is if these are actually built by an oakley factory in china or if they are simply rebranded by oakley.

My Oakley Half Jackets say Made in USA. I miss my old Frogskins - they got smashed in my backpack while out in Big Bend many years ago.

I love their sunglasses, but stay away from their boots, unless you plan on very light duty use. I destroyed a pair of tan Assault Boots in about 6 months. The soles were literally peeling off in chunks and they were horrible at being water-repellant (I sprayed them with Camp Dry).

Maybe their boots were not made for working on a ranch, but a little water, dirt and the footpegs of my ATV should NOT destroy the soles of boots that cost that much money. I was shocked at how fast they came apart...they were NOT cheap!

I now have Blackhawk boots and they are fantastic and very tough.

Skip Oakley's boots and buy the Blackhawks. Those ARE waterproof and their soles can take a beating.

I wear prescription Oakleys and love them. Of course now I found out they are also making transition lenses now for the Oakleys. I did a search on google to find places that sell them near me and found one right down the road. Highly recommend them.
