OH NO...WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!

Well ,I've been lurking here for a couple of months and checking out all the gun shops in my area for my first handgun. Thanks mainly to this forum, I had pretty much decided on a XD40. Well, I went to sight my sluggun in today at a range (and gunshop) in a town about 30 miles away and was looking at a few XD's. As I was looking, in walks a guy who teaches a handgun class. Now, this is no normal joe. He has trained LE's all over the U.S. and in many other countries. Well we get to talking and he asked me if I had looked at the Sig 226. They had a couple of used ones that we started looking at. And I ended up taking one over to the range and giving it a try. What can I say. I fell in love. Ended up buying the thing! WHAT HAVE I DONE? Where's the new XD that I've been craving so long? I feel so dirty. I hope that I do not regret my hasty decision. Please, tell me that I'm not a bad person. Can I live with myself? WDO

suffer

Bad boy..

My guess is that you will eventually (soon) end up with an XD in your stockpile.. once you had one in your hands and fired it, you can't get over it....till then you'll have to suffer with the Sig (also an awesome gun) :P

Did you get a chance to shoot the XD-40? If you did and ended up choosing the SIG because it shot better, then more power to you - that's the way it should work. If not, well, I guess you just don't know what you are missing.

I did not. I did shoot the sig well. The first DA shot was 4" low to the left and the next 9 were center of target and within 1" of each other. All in all a very nice group for someone that has only shot a handgun a couple of times. Felt nice!

No worries. A gun that works for you is the right gun. Just don't expect to be asking any questions around here from now on

Thanks, I'm feeling a LITTLE better. Anybody need some trijicons? It has those on there and I'm going to have some Millet adjustables put on . After shooting it a few times it's going to the Sig custom shop to have those put on and gone through. Are there any sites just like this one for the Sig guns?

i think you've gone from simply paying for quality...which you would have done with EITHER gun...to paying for the quality and NAME.

sig's, hk's, walther's...i don't think anyone can really call them cheap. but you get what you pay for. and you just bought a name. and some quality.

i say good purchase. just save room for your XD. the sig fills a void...but not the same one the XD will.

congrats to you!!

Exactly right, just like any other gun. I was firing a 228 and the trigger just stopped working. The instructor told me to rotate the pistol almost upside down to see if it would still fire. It did. Something must have re-engaged, but I typically don't fire pistols upside down.

I'm sure you meant to say "..You can't go wrong with sig..." I only wish they had stainless steel frames instead of alloy. My understanding is that they all have alloy frames.
