if it went faster then the speed of light, you'd have problems b/c you'd have to shoot where the target WAS since the round would go back in time.

What I really liked was the previous episode that had the German artillery piece. That thing was SO impressive... the engineering behind it is staggering.

The speed of light is actually closer to 186,000 not 184,000 jednp. Sorry couldn't resist as it is the only thing I remember from physics.

roughly 3.00 x10^8 meters per sec, therefore light will travel one meter (roughly one yard) in
1/[3.00 x10^8] seconds =3.3333333333 x10^-9 seconds
By now you've had enough so I'll stop.

I thought that was awesome as well. What was really cool was how the new Howitzers could fire 5 shells at different trajectories and have them all hit the destination at the same time. As a demonstration, they had 4 different Howitzers do this. The mountainside they showed was just obliterated when the shells started raining down. Very cool tech indeed.

B/W that german artillery piece and that new ultra quiet attack sub, the germans are fielding some pretty formidable war machinery.

I did some investigating what it would take to get one of those Barretts, here's what I found...

There are only 100 Barrett M107's that were made available to the civilian market. They are marked as such ( i.e. XX of 100 ). I found 2 of them on Gunbroker with a starting bid of $12,500 each. Guess I will have to settle for an AR-50. It's a single shot, bolt action but runs $10,000 less.
