Well, the next time someone breaks into Mr. Hendrix's home armed with a chain saw, he can "be the empowered citizen" and call 911 for help. And wait.

In this country, I don't think "getting guns off the street" will ever really happen. Too many avenues to bring weapons into the country or illegally manufacture them to sell through the black market. We Americans are an interesting bunch: some of us well-meaning, some of just us insane, and some of us just irresponsible. Let's face it - we humans aren't civilized yet, even though we do our best to act like it. The Martians are laughing at us.

Mr. Hendrix needs to visit the ghetto and see how criminals work.

Mr. Hendrix is so very typical of someone with an agenda. He certainly has an eye on political office in his future. He has made up his mind with whatever facts will support his view and rejects all others as fallacy. I see him as someone who will move in to the realm of "public" office with gun control as a rally cry, but will secretly have a CCW for himself as he makes more and more enemies.

Thanks for emailing him bryan.tonya - Im sure he has gotten plenty of emails and each one helps him just to see how many people disagree with his invalid argument. There was three straight days of response articles from many students about that article. And they dont print all of them either. Some people really dont get it.
