Anyone ever heard of Michael Buble'?

I just saw this dude in concert in Columbus, OH and it was one of the most amazing shows ever. His singing is flawless, and every little part of his show is entertaining. I and my wife are definitely going back to see him again. We even got to meet the guy after the show. So, let's hear if you know about him.

Michael has been around for years and toured Australia late last year. A lot of people say he is the new Frank Sinatra but I like to think that he is his own singer and comparable to none as the way he sings is unique. Also from all reports he is a very nice down to earth kinda guy. I thought he was big in the US already? Apparently I am wrong.

My wife bought his CD a while back. It is AWESOME, I really wanted to go see the show but we were out of town when he was in the area.

Big in the US? Hardly. Have you seen the garbage thats played on our radio these days? Michael Buble is true music, not top 40 trash.

That being said, Ive seen him in concert and was blown away, no other way to describe it.

The comment about true music is dead on. I come from a singing background, and am a self-proclaimed music critic. So much music and singing on records anymore has been digitally altered to the point that it isn't even the performer's real voice anymore. Case in point, Rascal Panties.... er, uh, fags, I mean, Flatts, they run thier voices through a digital vocal corrector while singing for their albums. It corrects thier pitch wavering and imperfections. And if you want to see how much it has to correct, just listen to a live performance, and they can't sing worth, pardon the word, ****.

Michael Buble, on the other hand, is as flawless on stage as he is on record. And that's while dancing, walking through the crowd, and whatever. The "New Sinatra" moniker I think is used to discribe the type of music rather than the actual artist. He seemed really down to earth when I and my wife met him. He was very humble. He signed our tour book and ticket stub, and shook my hand and hugged my wife. He seemed truly honored that we came out to see him. His band is just as friendly. His guitarist, Randy Napolean, and his drummer, Rob Perkins, both talked to me and my wife for about 10 minutes and let me take pictures of them with my wife. SturmRuger, you definitely need to catch him in concert. And if you don't get a chance, just get the "Caught in the Act" DVD and that's the show we saw, pretty much.

Being a classically trained, and self trained musician, I tend to be critical of everything, and I wont think twice about telling you if the person youre listening to is a, to quote Office Space, "no talent ass clown".

The sad fact of the matter is thatn 95% of musicians today are studio produced wonders. For those of you into recording, you know AutoTune, and what it can do to someones voice who is off pitch. When it comes to singing live though, there is no AutoTune, and the true voice comes out. Perfect example, Ashlee Simpson. Personally, I think she sucks on records and live cuts, yet she continues to sell millions of albums?

My real question is, why can we not get back to the days of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Queen and others too numerous to mention, when people actually played their own instruments and sang their own stuff? People actually used to sit down in the studio and do single cuts, and that was it, none of this multi take stuff. There is a Van Halen song, cant remember which one now, but I think it was with David Lee Roth, and he goofed at the beginning, but the track was so good, they kept it anyway.
