Concrete Block Party - send a brick to DC!

Some may find this to be a bad idea. Whatever. I think this is an astoundingly brilliant idea.

Do you realize how cool it would be if every person pissed off about this **** (illegal Aliens/wide open borders) actually shipped a cinderblock to the capitol? just a thought

After some quick and sketchy research....it looks like it would cost around $10.00 to send
one brick via USPS. A cinderblock would be cool but expensive.

1000's of bricks showing up in the capitol mailroom would be fricken awesome!

More to come and how you can get in on this great idea!

Guys, we've got 9767 members. ARFCOM has 96000+ members. GlockTalk has 57800+ members. FalFiles has almost 20000. That's just 4 boards for a grand total of 183,567 members. Lets assume that half of each board is a member of the other three. That leaves us 91,783 members. Now say only 5% participated. That's still almost 5000 bricks! That's enough to draw notice, I think.

If you think this is dumb, fine. But I think this is a perfect opportunity to do something that is both easy and effective.

200+ years ago a bunch of guys got together and f'ed up the British's goods in protest, knowing good and well that the consequenses would suck. Now, if we can't even do this, and we won't even take the time to drop a brick in a mail box, we'd might as well roll over now and piss on ourselves and welcome our new overlords.

What think ye, my eFriends?

hah that's funny.. you know, it's kind of the same type of thing in a way.. but I was considering sending my $110 dr bill I just got for my visit due to my cold, to teh mexican consulate here in Omaha and asking them to reimburse me for my visit. I figure we have to pay for their illegal's care, they can pay for mine.

DON'T link to that URL yet. The real one should be up sometime today. It's www.send-a-brick.com

I just wanted to get this out to you all.

I was just on the FalFliles and GlockTalk, and have been reading on ARFCOM -- these are just 3 other forums that I know if it being on. I seem to remember someone saying THR and TFL have already been informed.

I find it absolutely amazing how powerful forums can be when they want to be.

Hopefully we don't drop the ball...err...the brick on this one.

I sent a quick email on the subject to the product endorsements and media coordinators of Minuteman Project (MMP) to see if we cant get more traction behind the effort.

now if only someone would setup a site so that you could just pay $15, pick a senator, pick a pre-written note for the brick, and choose a form letter and they will send it for you.

OK, which one are we talking about? It seems like we're using the terms "block" and "brick" interchangably. A brick (2 1/4 x 3 3/4 x 8 inches) is much smaller and lighter than a block (7 5/8 x 7 5/8 x 15 5/8 inches). Not to nit-pick, just looking for clarification.

As far as building a wall to keep people out, the block idea is better than bricks by far. For mailing purposes... ouch. I think a block is like 40 pounds.

Whatever you do don't send any solids or semi-solids. . . you'll get killed on postage.

They are talking about regular red clay bricks. Although I'm sure you could send a concrete brick as well.

They're working on that.

Yes, a cinder block would be more useful for buliding a wall, but as most of these will probably end up...who knows where (probably not a wall), we're sending the little red bricks. They're still unshredable, and they've still gotta do something with them.
