Do you save boxes?

My wife has been doing some spring cleaning and has pointed out a behavior that I was essentially unaware of...I save boxes!

As I started looking at my tool box in the garage, there are two small empty boxes stacked on top...I have boxes broken down behind my tool box as well.

I have every box my guns came in, I have empty boxes from the knives I have bought and from the watch I bought a couple years ago...I even have boxes from Oakley sunglasses I bought over twelve years ago...the glasses have been long gone.

Odd how it feels when you realize you do something out of the norm and are not really sure why I do this.

Anyone else suffer from this? Any insight into the behavior?

Me, too.

For me, I think it's that "hey, ya never know" mindset.

I can say that I too have boxes. I just did some cleaning today and noticed I have boxes for stuff I've had for quite a while.

I used too. But not any more.

I used to do work for Bank trust and estate departments. We would go into a house after the owner died and clean it out. Generally we did it because the family wanted nothing to do with the rich ole coot or there was no family.

We would pull out Sm many empty boxes it was ridiculous. That and empty try as from frozen dinners, and junk mail, and old shoes, bowling balls golf clubs.

It was sad that that was a persons material legacy.

It was even sadder that the families never wanted to do go thru their relatives stuff. They just wanted the money.

Since those days, If it sits unused for 1/2 a year, it gets sold at a garage sale or pitched. Too much stuff is not good. Material possessions can complicate your life. Especially empty boxes.

I keep all the boxes for my firearms, but no others. I used to keep boxes for all the smal apliances like computers, tvs, radios, etc. But after moving a few times they went in the trash.

I keep all my boxes at my parent's place where they will stay while my mother goes through like 8 years of school. She finds them useful for what reason I do not know.

You mean there's someone that does this FOR you?
We had to clean out the house when my father passed away. Some of it was OK, but cleaning out the garage, his shop and his room was too painful for words.
When/if my mother passes, I, for one would prefer NOT to have to do that again.

My intent is to save them for a few months just in case it's defective. The problem is, I am lazy.

So yes, I usually suffer from the same disease as you.
