Easy Cleaning with Spiderman
I saw this mentioned on Packing. org a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be worth a try.
They were discussing using battery powered toohbrushes for cleaning firearms. Several of the posters tried it immediately and gave good reviews. Today I was at the local drugstore and just happened to see a kid's Spiderman battery powered toothbrush on sale for $3.95 (including batteries). I picked up on Spidy and brought it home. I went to work on my Sig P245 which I usually keep pretty clean as it's one of my main carry pieces. It's now in showroom condition! It gets the little hard to get to crud out of the edges around sights and levers etc that sometimes can be a real chore. I think the action and vibrations of the brush might even force some oil down in the seams where it doesn't usually go. The entire gun cleaned up very nicely in about half the time. Give it a shot if you can find a cheap toothbrush on sale. It works pretty good. It's even more fun if you can have Spiderman to help you. bd |
