I LOVE THE NRA!!!

***This was supposed to go under the "What does everyone think about the NRA" post***

I work for the Fed's so I have a pretty good feel for how much attention groups like this get when they call. I haven't worked with the NRA in my professional career, but damn, I'm glad the most powerful lobby in the world is on my side after seeing how people jump when certain groups call!

I pretty much take offense when my fellow shooters tell me they are not members of or oppose the NRA. I've bought a couple of people memberships because I believe in them so much.

In addition to them being 99% responsible for us still being able to own guns/carry guns/own hi-caps, there are many other advantages too...

I had a Kimber stolen by a North Little Rock cop(long story - email me if you want whole story). I reported this to the NRA and I was out only $100 (because of their automatic firearm insurance program just for being a member) for a high dollar gun. Man, that alone was worth my membership. Not to mention the being able to own and carry it!

I am not a member of the NRA. Don't know if I will be. But deffinetly don't have a problem with them protecting my rights. I like picking up the NRA magazines at work and flipping through them though. Some good useful information in them.

I have used the hotel discounts. it was pretty good to stay on Miami Beach for what it would cost to stay in Tampa.

If you own a gun in this country without being a member of the NRA, you are hurting yourself. Many can complain of the NRA's power, however I deeply feel their efforts are the reason we enjoy the freedoms we currently have. No NRA, No Guns. I believe this.

Join now, it's only $10 (for an associates membership) https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/signup.asp

Q: What is the difference between Regular and Associate Memberships?
A: Associate Membership has all the benefits of Regular Membership except Associate Members do not receive a magazine, cannot participate in NRA elections, and cannot hold office within the NRA.

I'm with Old School on this that. I hear a lot of people complaining about how the NRA isn't doing this, or that, or whatever, like they think the NRA should, etc.

No, the NRA may not be on a gun law repealing spree, setting the 2nd amendment free in a day, but they're getting stuff done, and that's what counts. Regaining rights that've been taken away is not an easy thing to do, and I feel the NRA is doing a fine job of it.

The fact is is that no matter how active we are as individuals, there are some things that we simply do not have enough power to do. That's what the NRA is there for; to represent all of us gun owners where we (rightly or wrongly) cannot represent ourselves.

And oh yeah, as important as being an NRA member is, it's just as important to vote correctly, but as this thread isn't about that, I'll not comment further on the subject.

The NRA just like politicians isn't perfect, but any org or person who is working for gun right vs. against them, should be supported.
