While I can see your point, I can also see some problems with having someone that doesn't have problems with their weight talking about controlling their weight.
It's like a celibate Priest dispensing advice on marriage and sex.
It's like a man explaining how painful childbirth is.
It's like a woman telling a man how to drive.
Sometimes experience does help. If he is starting to watch his diet, I have no problem with him telling others how overeating has affected his life, and health.
