monitor view size help
I need help. big time. I am sick and tired of having the forum talk screen so freaking large that I have to keep scrolling left to right to read things. Don't even get me started on people and their pictures large enough to cover the state of Montana.
My font size located in the VIEW menu is set at smaller, the second smallest setting, and I still have to scroll. I don't want to scroll. What do I need to do to stop having to scroll left to right to read on this forum????? |

Sounds like a resolution issue. My resolution is set to 1024x768 and usually don't have to scroll. I am guessing you're at 800x600. If you're wanting to change resolution (assuming Windows based), go to your desktop, right click, select Properties, click on the Settings tab, and change the slide bar under Screen Resolution to 1024x768 (or is you're below 800x600 try that).
The caveat to all this is if your eyesight is poor, you may have a hard time seeing stuff, but I switched over to this for flight sim and couldn't go back to 800x600 if I wanted to.

If your monitor is larger than a 17", and you have a decent video card, most people find settings higher than 1024x768 to be a little more comfortable. If you're using a 17" or 15" monitor, you're probably better off staying with the 1024x768 setting.

If you really want to have some fun, get a video card that allows dual monitors and pick up an extra (can usually find someone that is trying to part with an old one). It's amazing how much productive you can be. I miss the setup so much when I'm at work! I can have my email open on one side, Firefox on the other. Or better yet, if I'm writing something (or working on my budget), I can continue to work on whatever it is I'm working on and continue to surf the web without covering it up. It really is great. I can't even begin to tell you how much nicer it makes flight sim

Two monitors? Two monitors? Hah. I scoff at dual monitor set-ups.
![]() Just kidding, but I really do like having three. I know it's overkill, but I build my own computers (and end up building them for everyone else I know, naturally) so I always have a bunch of spare stuff lying around, and this particular motherboard had two empty PCI slots, and I just happened to have two old PCI video cards... and a monster was born.
