guy at a party had a gun tonight..
my nephew called and told me a guy at a party he was at got a single action ruger and was mad because he couldnt get the cylinder to flip out like his dads s&W ..

Lol. A common mistake. Did he show your nephew this discreetly and sober, or was he being a dumb@$$ "hey everyone look at my new gun?" kinda guy? Showing off your gun at a party just invites "accidents."

Yes it does. Back in college a kid had a 1911 on halfcock and was showing it around when somehow or another he shot into the concrete imbedding shrapnel and concrete in a few girls legs. He took off to my girlfriends sorority house came in and threw the gun and an extra mag on the coffee table and took off. Thats when I let it sit there and called the cops.

Back in college, went to a party at my buddy’s off campus house and for some reason, his roommate had my buds Super Blackhawk out and was showing off with it. Pointed it at a picture of an elk on the wall and pulled the trigger…. Yep, weapon was loaded and a .44 mag going off inside a room was loud. The silence that followed was even louder….. Good news is that my buddy Tim got to this yahoo before I did….and proceeded to grab his gun back and deck the shooter.
Seems that they had been having ‘Yote problems and Tim had his Blackhawk in a gun cabinet in his bedroom. Good thing the house was way out in the country, but it could have ended really badly. Heck of a hole in the wall…..and the picture. Tim ended up with a new roommate and put a lock on the gun cabinet. And kept the picture with the hole in it just as a reminder.
