Acronyms and other info for newbies

I was wondering if there could be a topic on the Information forum where people can go to see descriptions and definitions of common acronyms? I have been in a few posts where I have seen IWB, OWB, SOB, FTF(for multiple uses), FTE. I have concluded that:

IWB = Inside waist band
OWB = Outside waist band
SOB = Small of back
FTF = failure to fire sometimes and face to face other times
FTE = failure to extract
+P = ?

There are others but these seem to be the ones I remember seeing most. I am reasonably sure of my conclusions but don't know that I am correct 100%.

Thank you for taking time to consider this request.

I am pretty sure FTF usually means failure to feed more-so than fire. +P means high pressure.

FTF = failure to feed.

FTE can mean Failure to eject, or Failure to extract.... there is a difference.

SHTF = **** hit the fan

LOL = Laugh Out Loud

XDSC = Xtreme Duty Sub Compact. Though it doesn't seem THAT extreme but it does pack quite a few punches with the recent 15 round magazine creation, *sighs*

OMG WTF it took me years figure some of these out. IMO let them figure out for themselves. Just kidding and couldn't resist

First time I saw "lol" I thought it meant "looser on line"-got pissed and quit the card game I was playing.

I'm guessing you weren't playing with real money. Makes a difference.

You are very very wrong! Why do you think they spelled "extreme" without the first "e", eh? Because it's THAT EXTREME!

And a failure to fire is called a misfire.

My arfcom favorite acronym, IBTL (in before the lock).

Money...that stuff in all those fairytale books? It was in the days before search engines and browser bars. You had to know the address or IP and it was a spades game I bought that had online play for free.

I love it. See this post proves my point. I assumed on a couple of those acronyms and was wrong. We(mostly us newbies) need an information page up front that we won't have to dig through past posts to find this stuff. This information would be very helpful in a place that stays up front all the time. What do you say moderators?

Thanks for any consideration you put into this idea.
